Shout Out To My Ex?. A song for the ages. Touch? A decade-defining pop tune. Black magic? Cast a spell over me. Little Mix are the legends that will never leave us, the teenies response to the Pussycat Dolls (but they’re all Nicole).
No, I’ve never had the honour of seeing Jess, Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade strut their stuff on a stage, nor will I ever – due to the pure shame of digging out £50+ to go alone to an actual Little Mix show (Yes show, it’s not a gig, it’s a show, it’s a spectacle).
Let’s take a step back. Little Mix graced Saturday Night TV as they stormed X Factor in 2011, showing girls and me everywhere the power of femininity. They won, obviously, but from they were then propelled into stardom. As they got bigger they got better, cracking America in the process – not many British all-female groups could do this. They’ve become catchier, more influential – even though they have been somewhat criticised for their on-stage attire.
They’ve got the recipe – sick pop songs, with sick videos to suit, an all-action live performance and shit loads of girl power. Salute.
