Hinds are on the cover of Volume 8, which includes interviews with The Murder Capital, The Blinders, Ezra Furman and more.
It’s been a tough few weeks, and lockdown doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. We’re all stuck inside, looking for something to do to pass the time, and Volume 8 of The Rodeo will do just that. Featuring insightful interviews with some of our favourite artists, and creative features you won’t find in any other magazine, Volume 8 will take your mind off these troubling times and put a smile on your face.
We are delighted to have Hinds on the cover, who are releasing their superb new album, The Prettiest Curse, on June 5th. Singer Carlotta Cosials spoke to us about the making of the album, touring with The Strokes and how to feel less lonely. The brilliant Rory Dunn also met up with the band in London last month and took some great photos of them; these snaps are featured throughout the mag. We’ve also done a lovely set of postcards, featuring portraits of each band member available HERE. You can purchase these at a discounted price with the magazine.
We also spoke to The Murder Capital, who have had a fantastic year since the release of their debut album. Lucy Tibbs took some fantastic photos of them, and Tara Dalton spoke to the boys about the inspirations behind the record and the power of music when you’re feeling lonely.
Elsewhere, we spoke to The Blinders ahead of the release of their sophomore album, Fantasies of a Stay At Home Psychopath, Ezra Furman talks about the making of the Sex Education soundtrack, whilst Caroline Rose and Porridge Radio also discuss their brilliant new albums.
There’s also an interview with designer Ray Brown, who’s made clothing for Alex Turner, Brandon Flowers, Ozzy Osbourne, Miles Kane, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe and more. And, our resident American reporter explores the thriving Hudson Valley music scene, speaking with Diet Cig, Matt Pond, The Felice Brothers and more about the New York suburb.
As always, we’ve tried to put a smile on your face with our creative features. Volume 8 lists five animals Lil Nas X should ride in the next ‘Old Town Road’ video, analyses ex-MP Norman Baker’s band, The Reform Club, and reminisces on Just Dance’s superb soundtrack. One day we’ll consider whether we’ve taken things too far, but today is not that day.
Volume 8 is on sale now from therodeomag.com/shop/. And, if you like what we do, you can save yourself a bit of cash by subscribing – you’ll get 5 magazines and FREE POSTAGE!
