Foals caused carnage in London’s Alexandra Palace on Saturday night, a sold out crowd rocking the foundations of the venue to the core. Songs adored nationwide by indie kids and general lovers of a good time kept a constant tempo to a set sprinkled with only occasional moments of passive reflection. It’s hard not to get involved in the mixer at the front, most of the crowd reflecting the energy and aggression of frontman Yannis Philippakis who has added ferocious screaming to his already expansive repertoire. The evening felt like a culmination of five terrific records, with the passion for the band constant amongst everyone in the room. Bring on the autumn and another new album.
