Molly., a BBC introducing favourite, has released a brand new track, ‘Brick By Brick’. Watch the music video for it here first!
She started messing around on a guitar at 10, now she’s 23 and releasing tunes. It’s safe to say she knows what she’s doing, even if she’s the new kid on the block; “Music is a way of expressing my emotions and telling my own story. I’m more determined than ever to show everyone that if you believe, you can make it happen.”
New single, ‘Brick By Brick’ is a testament to this, it’s a song about hardship and tenacity, will and strength. It’s about keeping on keeping on, never stopping, never giving up. And, really it’s a message for you guys; “sometimes life can be difficult, it can take you through some really hard times. But if it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t be who you are. People can be negative towards your dreams and the paths you want to take, but it’s just about what you take from those experiences and building them into something you have always wanted.”
She’s down to earth and so is her music; “I think lots of people can relate to this song. I wrote it to have a positive impact on people.” And a positive impact it has. We have all had times in our lives where expectations and reality clash, but in the end, we all want to prove others wrong. And, this is the soundtrack to that emotion. The music for wanting to do the best you can with what you have.
But in helping us, she’s also creating catharsis for herself; “You spend so long writing and perfecting songs that mean so much to you that when the time eventually comes to show them to the world, it’s almost like a sense of relief. You feel a release. Finally, something you have been keeping for so long can be shared with everyone else.”
