Aussie music is stupidly good right now, and Hatchie is just
another superstar-in-waiting from down under. Cotton-candy pop, tales of
break-ups and romance, it also sounds pretty standard, but Hatchie’s vocal has
something different about it, a slight Aussie drawl hangs amidst the general
warmth infused throughout it, her voice is friendly, it draws you in
immediately. On stage, she’s relatively static, her band look like a bunch of
dudes she’s just collected from the science lab, they don’t move much either,
but her talent shone through and demonstrated the potential that lies within
her. A little bit more on-stage confidence is required in the future, however.
