Editors proved they’re
arena-ready with a meticulously melded set of new and old anthems and
electronic breakdowns. Known for their dark post-punk-meets-electronic-sound,
Editors curated a gloomy and mysterious atmosphere yet weren’t afraid to switch
it up on occasions, the show slipping into Ibiza-dance-party-mode a handful of times,
the all-conquering ‘Papillion’, a mish-mash of Joy Division and New Order,
proving this perfectly. A mesmerising light show only added to the atmosphere,
black and white strobes flashing during the darker moments. Frontman Tom Smith
was a captivating watch, nonchalantly moving across stage, gliding at times,
his vocal on-point, his dance moves cringey-yet-cool.
