Sky Ferreira – Downhill Lullaby
She’s baaaaack. It’s been 6 long years of hurt. 6 long years without our Sky, but she’s back and now she’s all grown up. Long gone is the teenage angst, as expected – it’s dark and cinematic nowadays. The first tasting of her sophomore record is a good one though, enjoy it you lot, enjoy it.
Fever Days – I See Through It
The boys from the Toon just keep getting better and better. The chorus is fierce and confidence is oozing from the foursome at the moment. Look out for an interview with the quartet in Volume 3 of The Rodeo Magazine.
Billie Eilish – All The Good Girls Go To Hell
For us, this ties the whole album together. It has both the intimate intensity and the childish playfulness that appears across the record, tying the two moods together with a chirpy piano and demonic bassline. This is one of the best new tracks off this fantastic record.
Phoebe Green – Dreamin’ Of
It seems we have found Britain’s answer to Phoebe Bridgers in her namesake, Phoebe Green. This is top quality stuff from a song-writer who’s flying at the mo. Currently on tour with Sunny K, she’s doing alright and dreamin’ big.
Barrie – Saturated
Like a soft-boiled egg, oozing and flowing without a care in the world, with nothing to stop it apart form a scoop of toast. It moves and develops, the scrumptious synth transforming into a tropicana treat by the end. It’s the most intimate offering from Barrie’s upcoming LP yet, but it’s a delightfully nutritious track.
Black Midi – Crow’s Perch
The first official release from one of the most hyped bands around right now is everything we expected. Jumping all over the place like a child on a bouncy castle, the intensity of their live shows has been transformed onto record for the Rough Trade band’s debut single.
