Walking on to The Waterboys’ ‘The Whole of the Moon’, Think Tank was drenched in darkness as a crowd made up of 7 couples struggled to get going, as did the band they were watching. Whilst moments of dance-rock breakdowns saw Ten Fe’s genius shine through, their ability to introduce intricate layers a top of sample-led synth-compositions reminiscent of the new Foals album, overall, it was a stop-start set, with only the odd ‘hit’ enough to get the crowd singing along. A cover of Springsteen’s ‘I’m On Fire’ showed off their scintillating harmonies and effortless vocals, but it was barely enough to salvage a mediocre performance, where ultimately, Ten Fe let the audience’s lack of energy get the better of them.
