It’s almost a fact that acoustic music cures hangovers, and few do that as well as SoFar Sounds. Newcastle were served up nothing but a lovely afternoon in the suitably cool Camber Coffee. Geordie crooner Conor Haley opened the set and charmed his way through technical difficulties – original offering ‘21’ was very likeable, but the performance was a little overshadowed by a few predictable covers.
Beth Macari offered her trademark bold and beautiful voice in between cheeky sips of red wine. Her honesty throughout a soulful set made it all the more enjoyable. Folk pop duo Tall Shaves then strut their stuff before the ridiculously talented Paige Temperley took to the stage. Playing pretty much every string instrument she could find, she toe-tapped her way through a set of acoustic goodness. Sofar Sessions, as usual, played a blinder.
