King Nun’s Mass is a progressive record that shows they’ve dropped their punk beginnings for a more psychedelic sound. The culmination of a series of EP’s, Mass shows King Nun have matured musically and lyrically, resulting in a wicked set of tunes.

The record moves past generic drum-driven punk to more tender, vulnerable guitar music. If you arrived at Mass expecting more of the same King Nun, you won’t be disappointed but refreshed. The sound has followed King Nun in growing up, becoming much more wholesome, less chaotic, more cohesive. They’ve taken off their reckless roller skates, opting for a comfortable pair of worn docs and a sweet cord jacket.

The lyrics are more meaningful, now the driving force behind the band as they strongly state their opinion on the important issues of today. The album wades through issues of toxic masculinity and depression, a mantle being passed around many guitar bands in 2019. King Nun have begun the next chapter, and we are so here for it.
