Record Store Day announces its Black Friday releases

Ahhh, it’s that time of year again, where Record Store Day blesses our holiday shopping by releasing limited edition singles, CDs, and cassettes in independent record stores on Black Friday, November 29th.

It’s been a winter miracle and the bane of our bank accounts since 2010, and after seeing the list of vinyls on offer, it seems this year’s continuing the trend. Record Store Day Ambassadors Pearl Jam are starting the day off with a bang, releasing the first-ever vinyl of their MTV unplugged set, produced only three days after their first American tour.

Among the releases is Cardi B, with Gangsta Bitch Vol 1, Lizzo’s Coconut Oil EP, Tenacious D’s Don’t Blow It Kage, Liam Gallagher‘s Why Me? Why Not., The National‘s Live at The Greek Theatre, heck, even the Jay and Silet Bob Reboot original soundtrack will also be available on LP! And, like I said, the winter season is upon us, so it wouldn’t be Christmas if you couldn’t celebrate with festive records from Hall&Oates, Hendrix and the string quartet from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The musical greats Leon Redbone and Dr. John will also be remembered in record stores this year, with a double shot of 1977 concerts for Redbone, alongside John’s 1968 deep dive into psych rock with Babylon (which is being repressed after 40 years out of print!)

To find out more, this year’s diverse list can be found now at recordstoreday.com, so check it out to find out if there’s anything you fancy.

Earlier this year, we compiled a list of our RSD faves, so before the big Black Friday blow-out, why not check out our 2019 12″ and 7″ picks!
