Hand Over Your Head kicks up the tempo, doubles down on the catchy hooks and draws in raspy vocals in a journey of pure alt-rock passion. Oscar is running full pelt into a trippy adventure of his own making. The clock is ticking on ‘Wake Up’, a minimalist interlude which leads into Oscar ‘Waking up on apple juice‘. The succeeding track explodes with colourful beats at an electric pace, with Lang pulling some cracking vocals out of the bag.

Establishing a powerful theme and taking absolutely no prisoners, Oscar continues to smash your expectations to pieces with another punchy track, ‘Get Out’. Although their music bares little resemblance, the song makes you want to jump around and smash up your nearest guitar The-Who-style. So far, so good.

By the fifth track, it’s clear that Oscar has found his groove and begins to flex his creative genius with ‘I Feel Good’ – and let me tell you, it makes you feel fucking good. As my personal favourite on the album, the track is utterly blistering, bursting out of the gate with absolutely face-melting guitar and authentic rockstar vocals.

My only criticism would be that the inclusion of the intro and outro don’t add all that much, but even then it’s nitpicking when compared to the quality of the EP as a whole. It’s got everything you want from a tight seven-track endeavour, leaving you drooling and begging to sink your teeth into more.

To describe it in one sentence would go as follows: ‘An ice-cold glass of apple juice with a crisp fruitiness… laced with an unholy amount of LSD and a fuck tonne of euphoria.’

Haiku Review:
Laced with LSD,
Packed with euphoria and
Pure alt-rock passion.
