Froth – Laurel
Lo-fi L.A noise but with a hint of bagpipe in the background. This is a menacing track that slowly builds, until the bagpipe-sounds take centre stage.
Taylor Skye – This Season
Low-fi, raw, sci-fi sounds infusing a jazz-beat. There’s a crackling feel to this track which remains at a slow tempo for much of the time, but explodes into an intricate but distorted riff half-way through.
Redford – To The Morning
This is a relaxed number, with a slight country tinge and a subdued backing beat. Perfect for when the sun ever decides to return and you’re out with your pals havin’ a BBQ.
Dumb – Beef Hits
Rarely relaxing, constantly bubbling, frothing, always about to spill over the edge of the pan and cause a mess. Dumb are a riot of rock ‘n’ roll, shouting, screaming, talking straight at you, never ever passive in what they sing. This is a coup.
Delacey – My Man
The video is luxurious, extravagant and indulgent, and this L.A based singer-songwriter knows how to produce a pop tune.
Alex Cameron – Miami Memory
It’s a gorgeous, sadistic, poetic, completely-fucked up love-song from the Aussie wonder boy. We couldn’t be happy that he’s back, but you already knew that. Play it, share it, tell your friends and boy, you better buy a copy, none of that streaming nonsense alright?
